“I felt like I was in safe hands.”

How the Resales team and Estates Managers have created the perfect partnership to support sellers and welcome new homeowners safely into our developments.

Since McCarthy Stone launched its resales service in 2017, our dedicated House and Estate Managers have put their heart and soul into supporting families selling their retirement properties, and welcoming new homeowners to our communities. Working in partnership with our Resales Property Consultants, our team can provide exceptional care and a unique insight into our developments, which sets our resales service apart from other estate agencies.

Covid-19 has brought many challenges for all of us, but it has had a considerable impact on our House and Estate Managers and the role they play in supporting resales at their developments. Tilly Norman, Estates Manager at Ellisfields Court in Taunton works in partnership with Resales Property Consultant

, Steve Grist, who have bothhad to adapt their ways of working due to the pandemic.

Tilly says: “When lockdown happened, we were determined to continue supporting our sellers, whilst keeping the safety of our homeowners, staff and visitors as our number one priority. New safety guidelines meant we had to adapt quickly, ensuring we had all the correct PPE and procedures in place to allow us to carry out viewings and move-ins as safely as possible.”

“Steve has always been extremely helpful and supportive – it’s great to know there’s someone on hand should I have any queries. We work very closely on all our resales apartments, ensuring the process runs as smoothly as possible for both

sellers and buyers. This really helps our customers have the very best McCarthy Stone experience.”

Steve, who has been supporting resales in the South West since the business launched said: “Our House and Estates Managers are at the heart of our developments and know them better than anyone. They take on the extremely important role in ensuring our customers are happy and it is a pleasure to work alongside dedicated Estate Managers like Tilly.”

“During lockdown it was extremely important for Tilly to conduct the viewings at Ellisfields Court, as this not only reduced the number of visitors to the development, it also meant she was in full control of the visit and the safety implications this has on homeowners, staff and visitors.”

“She is also the best person to effectively communicate the benefits and limitations McCarthy Stone offers, which makes all the difference in helping prospective buyers decide whether this is the right move for them.”

Despite the disruption of the pandemic, Tilly and Steve successfully sold several apartments at Ellisfields Court during 2020, welcoming numerous new homeowners to the 58-apartment development. One such homeowner was Tricia Binns who relocated from a small village near Kendal in Cumbria to be closer to her family.

Moving to Ellisfields Court during lockdown, Tricia’s experience could have been very different. She said: “I moved in just before Christmas and was warmly welcomed by Tilly and several other homeowners. From the outset, I felt like I was in safe hands and that every precaution was being taken to keep me safe.”

“Tilly and her team have been brilliant- always friendly and willing to help in any way-whatever the problem.”

“I’ve settled in wonderfully and love my new apartment – there could not be a better place for retirement living, especially during the present situation.”

“Whilst regular social activities are still on hold, I’m very much looking forward to face to face meet ups in the lounge and getting to know my fellow neighbours.”
