The Key to Resale Success

McCarthy & Stone’s dedicated Resales service continues to build a strong reputation for supporting homeowners and their families when they come to sell their retirement apartments. The team continue to achieve great results in matching sellers with purchasers swiftly, whilst supporting positive resale values in the process.

A key element that sets McCarthy & Stone’s Resales service apart from other local estate agencies is their network of exceptional House and Estate Managers who are fundamental in explaining what a retirement living lifestyle is all about. They know their own developments and homeowners better than anyone and are uniquely placed to provide outstanding customer service for potential buyers.

Since launching McCarthy & Stone Resales in March last year, House Manager Sally Hearn has been working in conjunction with the Resales team to successfully achieve 4 sales of preowned apartments at Martin Court in Grantham. Sally shares her experience of resales at Martin Court here:

“Having been House Manager at Martin Court for over 3 years, I have got to know all my homeowners very well. Together we have built a lovely community, with lots of our homeowners enjoying our weekly social events and activities. Life at Martin Court is nonstop! Living here has given our homeowners a new lease of life and their lively spirits keep me on my toes too. They really are a joy to work with and being part of their lives is truly the best part of my job.”

“During my time as House Manager several apartments have become available at Martin Court. Prior to the launch of McCarthy & Stone’s Resales service these properties were marketed by local agents for some time, with little or no interest.”

“It was very upsetting to see homeowners and their family members becoming frustrated and despondent with the lack of activity on the sale of their property. Unfortunately, it has been my experience that some agents don’t always understand the service charges and struggle to convey all the lifestyle benefits of retirement living at a McCarthy & Stone development.”

“When McCarthy & Stone launched its new Resales initiative all our sellers were relieved that there was finally a provider with a wealth of experience in selling retirement properties there to support them. Within days of instruction, McCarthy & Stone’s Resales team had generated lots of enquiries and viewings began to gain momentum.”

“Working alongside the Resales team has been a great experience. They work hard to deliver a great service for clients and the feedback I receive from both sellers and buyers is always positive. The team are always there to support me, and my resale duties have now become part and parcel of my role as House Manager.”

“I usually conduct most viewings myself, which is a great opportunity to get to know prospective homeowners and understand their needs and abilities. I take the time to show visitors all the communal areas and facilities, as well as explaining the social activities and introducing them to other homeowners. This provides a true insight into life at Martin Court and enables them to decide whether this is the right move for them.”

“Resales’ results speak for themselves and to date we have sold 4 properties at Martin Court, welcoming several new homeowners to our development. They have settled in extremely well and are happy they made the move. I am pleased to say we now have a full house at Martin Court and everyone is enjoying retirement living to the full!”

Commenting on Sally’s success at Martin Court, Resales Director, David Gabriel said; “Sally’s is a fantastic ambassador for McCarthy & Stone’s retirement living lifestyle, who shows real passion for her development and caring for her homeowners. House and Estate Managers like Sally make all the difference when selling a retirement property and providing potential buyers with a great first-impression of a development. Her enthusiasm for Resales and supporting homeowners and their families has been the key to the success we have seen at Martin Court.”
