Relaxing in her new apartment enjoying the dual aspect view of the Grand Union Canal, Pauline Fall, 86, is one of the latest homeowners to join the vibrant community at Glenhills Court in Leicester.
Relocating from the Lake District to be nearer to her daughter Karen, Pauline, is now settled into Glenhills Court, and hasn’t looked back since, as she explains: “During the pandemic it was impossible for my family to visit me as they lived out of the area, so I took the decision to move closer to my daughter, but I still wanted to retain my own independence. Glenhills has been a great solution.”
Located in the picturesque town of Glen Parva on the edge of the Grand Union Canal, Glenhills Court is just a stone’s throw from Karen’s home. The development offers easy access to the nearby town of Blaby, which encompasses a variety of local amenities, including a wide array of shops, cafes, and restaurants.
Pauline now enjoys weekly shopping trips with her daughter: “Being so close to Karen is ideal, plus the convenience of having all the shops on my doorstep suits me perfectly. I couldn’t be happier and I’m very optimistic about the future.”
Glenhills Court welcomed its first homeowner in 2015 and over the last 6 years residents have established a friendly and vibrant community. Since moving in, Pauline has taken the opportunity to get to know her fellow neighbours: “Everyone has been very welcoming. There’s a sprightly social committee here at Glenhills Court- so there’s always something going on. Recently, I joined them on a trip to the Garden Centre, and there’s lots of group activities, including knit and natter, exercise sessions and weekly film shows. It’s been delightful to meet like-minded people and there’s never any pressure to join in on all the social activities – you can dip in and out as you please.”
Pauline continues: “The Estates Manager, Rugile has been fantastic in helping me settle in. I have loved my first few months as an owner of a beautiful apartment. I feel safe and secure and know that I have the help and support of the fantastic staff whenever I need it. More than anything I value the independence I have to enjoy my retirement surrounded by my family and newfound friends.”
Commenting on Pauline’s move to Glenhills Court, Estate Manager, Rugile said: “Joining a ready-made community is one of the key benefits of moving into resales apartment –residents really looking forward to new homeowners moving in and rally round to make them feel as welcome as possible. Pauline has settled in very well – forming great friendships and becoming a valued part of Glenhills’ community.”
